Biography

Hui Xiao, Ph. D. Professor, Principal Investigator Unit of Immune Signaling and Regulation Institut Pasteur of Shanghai, Chinese Academy of Sciences 320 Yueyang Road, the New Life Science Research Building B-211 Shanghai 200031, China Tel: 86-15021986396 E-mail: huixiao@ips.ac.cn Research interests: The research goal of my lab is to decipher the signaling mechanisms by which innate receptors TLRs, C-type lectin receptors and RLRs regulate innate and adaptive immune responses, thereby develop novel approaches to control infection, autoimmunity and cancer. By identify novel signaling molecules involved in the induction of cytokines IL-12, IL-6, IL-23 and IFN-I by DCs and macrophages, we wish to better understand the mechanisms by which innate receptors decode pathogen information, whereby tailoring the appropriate adaptive immune responses to eradicate pathogens. We are particularly interested in the understanding of TLRs/CLRs-induced anti-fungal Th17 response, and TLRs/RLRs-induced anti-viral Th1 and CD8+ responses. We expect our findings will lay a solid foundation for the development of better treatment for human diseases in the future. Selected publications: 1.
