Ljiljana Kolar-Anić graduated with a degree in physical chemistry from the University of Belgrade, Belgrade, Serbia (at that time Yugoslavia) in 1970. She also obtained her Ph.D. degree in physical chemistry from the University of Belgrade where she defended the thesis entitled "Equation of state of the real gas in the gravitational field" Thus, started with theoretical investigations in statistical thermodynamics and chemical kinetics, she shifted to nonlinear dynamics and modelling of complex reaction systems in chemistry, physical chemistry and biochemistry. She spent her Postdoctoral studies at the Department for theoretical physical chemistry from the Universite Libre de Bruxelles. Since 1971 she has worked at the Faculty of Physical Chemistry, University of Belgrade, at different positions, from an Assistant to full Professor. She is also employed at the Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy, Department of Catalysis and Chemical Engineering.
