Dr Rebecca Knibb is a Chartered Psychologist and registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council. She is a senior lecturer at Aston University and is a member of the Applied Health Research Group and the Aston Research Centre for Children and Young People's Health. She is also a Trustee of the Anaphylaxis Campaign. Rebecca graduated from the University of Birmingham in 1999 with a PhD which investigated reasons why people self-diagnose food allergy and intolerance. Since then she has conducted and published research on the psychosocial impact of food allergy and intolerance on children and adult sufferers and the immediate family. She also has expertise in psychometric scale development, specifically to measure allergy specific quality of life. Dr Knibb also has an MSc in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy and specialises in CBT for allergic conditions.
