Liliana Simões Silva graduated in Pathologic, Cytologic and Tanatologic Anatomy at ESTSP (Escola Superior de Tecnologia da Saúde do Porto) in 2008. In the same year she joined the Nephrology Research and Development Unit (UIDN) from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, as a research fellow to work in the research line “Assessment of guanylin peptides system in type 2 diabetes”. She finished her master degree in 2011 in Biochemistry Technology in Health at ESTSP. In 2013, she started her PhD in Biomedicine, at the Faculty of Medicine of University of Porto. Her work is in the field of microbiology and molecular diagnostics, with the theme: “Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) and Infections: a knowledge-based approach for prevention and diagnosis”. Presently, she integrates the Nephrology and Infectiology Research and Development Group, INEB-(I3S).
