Liliana Oliveira is a communication officer at the Communications, Image and Public Relations Services of the University of Aveiro (Portugal) since 2000 and researcher at the Communication and Society Research Centre (CECS) of the University of Minho (Portugal). She is graduated in journalism and Institutional Communication and obtained an MSc Degree in Social Studies of Science and Technology (University of Salamanca, Spain) in 2008. She has finished her PhD is 2015 in Communication Sciences (University of Minho, Portugal) and in Social Studies of Science and Technology (University of Salamanca, Spain), with an "International and European Doctor" mention, focusing on “Higher education institutions and public engagement with science. Perceptions and practices of scientists, communication professionals and citizens in Portugal and Spain”. Liliana Oliveira was awarded by Communication & Society Research Centre (CECS) with the "CECS Excellence Prize in PhD Thesis". She has collaborated in the organization of some scientific events. Liliana is a member of the Cátedra CTS+I OEI-Salamanca, the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA), the Red de Estudios Sociales de la Ciencia y Tecnología (esCTS) and the Portuguese Association of Communication Sciences (SOPCOM). His main research interests are Science communication, Public participation, Public engagement with science and technology and in climate change.
