Youngryel Ryu is Assistant Professor of Environmental Ecology at Seoul National University, South Korea. He received his B.S. degree in Landscape Architecture from Seoul National University. After obtaining MCP degree at Seoul National University, he proceeded to University of California Berkeley where he received his Ph.D. in Biometeorology in 2010 under direction of Dennis Baldocchi. He joined the faculty of the Department of Landscape Architecture and Rural Systems Engineering at Seoul National University in 2011 after a research internship at Microsoft Research and a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University. His research interests include terrestrial water and carbon cycles, urban ecology, and remote sensing of canopy architecture and land-atmosphere interactions.
