Jeska Buhmann is working as a postdoctoral researcher at IPEM. She obtained her master's degree at the Radboud University of Nijmegen, in the field of Language, Speech & Informatics, specialising in the prediction of intonation for single sentences with recurrent neural networks. Her research at IPEM focuses on the influence of music on walking or running movements. She studies the sonic characteristics in music that cause people to move with more vigor, resulting in larger step sizes and/or velocity. The work is part of the European BeatHealth project (http://euromov.eu/beathealth/).
