Specialist and main project leader for acoustic related projects. 2000- Professor in Fluid Acoustics, KTH from September 1:st 2000. 2003-2015 Head of the Marcus Wallenberg Laboratory for Sound and Vibration Research, KTH. 2011-2017 vice-Director Competence Centre for Gas Exchange, KTH-CCGEx. 2014-2016 vice-President European Acoustical Association 2015- Director Centre for Sustainable Aviation, KTH-CSA Prof Åbom is focusing on the aeroacoustics of interior flows in particular related to sound generation and propagation in fluid machinery systems. Recently works related to thermoacoustics and metamaterials have come into focus related to projects in the KTH Centre for Gas Exchange (CCGEx). His work (Feb 2018) has resulted in 269 publications and over 3000 citations (h-index 27), He is also co-author of 9 patents.
