Iqbal holds a PhD in Real Estate and Construction Management from Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm. In 2017 she defended her thesis "Park Matters: Studies on safety and property values". She is part of the Housing and safety research group at Urban and Regional Studies, School of Architecture and the Built Environment, KTH, Stockholm, Sweden. Iqbal's main research interests are public open spaces, housing prices, urban safety, gender issues and spatial data analysis. Her PhD project was funded by The Swedish Research Council FORMAS. Previously she is an Architect from Pakistan and holds an MS degree in Spatial Planning from Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm.
