Marco Peccianti (MSc '00, PhD '04). In 2003, he was awarded with the “ Young Physicist” Prize “Vincenzo Caglioti” from the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei and with “Outstanding Graduate Student Award” from the Lasers and Electro-Optics Society (LEOS). In July 2005, he received the Otto Lehmann international Award from Karlsruhe University (Germany), and in June 2006, he obtained the International Liquid Crystal Society Multimedia Award (Kent, USA). . In November 2007, he received an Excellence Scholarship from the Government of Quebec for postdoctoral research (MELS). From October 2008 to September 2011, he was a European Union Marie Curie-Fellow. . From Sept. 2011 to Aug. 2013 he was researcher at the Institute of Complex Systems of the italian National Research Council (CNR). From Sept 2013 M.P. is faculty of the University of Sussex (UoS) and lecturer of Condensed State Physics and Lasers & Optics. He authored more than 285 publications: 95 publications on international journals and more than 190 communications to international conferences with about 55 invited speeches. He is also inventor of 3 international patent and author of 3 book chapters. His overall h-Index is 32 with more about 5000 citations. He is member of the Global Young Academy and of the reviewing pool of the European Science Foundation. He is topical editor of Scientific Reports (Nature publishing group), and committee chair of the conference on Integrated Photonics Research, Silicon, and Nano-Photonics (IPR).
