Currently is the director of the High Professional Technical Course in Food Quality, and since 2013 Assistant Professor at the Department of Food Science and Technology, College of Agriculture, Polytechnic of Coimbra (PC), teaching in Food Technology and Biotechnology BSc and MSc Degrees.
Researcher at the Research Center for Natural Resources, Environment and Society, in the Food Science and Engineering Research Group, with a focus on the development of novel products and processes, and the valorization of food processing by-products for resolving environmental problems and augmenting food production. Colaboration in the Chemical Process Engineering and Forest Products Research Centre (CIEPQPF). Has been involved as coordinator and team member in 8 national and international research projects. Has co-authored 2 patents in the scope of dairy products. In the last 6 years, received 12 prizes and awards in R&D business-oriented projects.
