Marco Garrido-Cumbrera PhD, has carried out university studies in Spain, Italy and France. He worked for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Rome developing the Regional Fishery Bodies (RFB), and also for the World Health Organization (WHO)in Geneva as project manager of several global projects. Garrido-Cumbrera has participated in more than 20 scientific projects (half of them at international and EU level), implementing different methods and techniques for geographical analysis. He is author and co-author of more than 25 scientific publications (including 8 articles published in peer-reviewed journals JCR). He participated in the coordination of the Erasmus Mundus Master’s Course in Urban Studies in Mediterranean Regions (EURMed) (involving the Universities of Seville, Aix-Marseille, Lisbon and Genoa). Garrido-Cumbrera was a visiting professor in the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (Brasil-2009), Columbia University (EEUU-2011) and National University of Ireland Maynooth (Ireland-2012). His mother tongue’s Spanish but speaks fluently English, French and Italian due to his international background. Since 2008, he joined the University of Sevilla where works as a professor and researcher at the Department of Physical Geography and Regional Geographical Analysis.
