Formerly graduated with a B.A. in English Literature from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, I then earned a PhD in Indian Studies at El Colegio de México, under the supervision of David N. Lorenzen. I have been teaching different courses on literature and religion in both Institutions. My main lines of research have been literature and hagiography of the Nath Yogis, as well as religious symbolism in literature (e.g. in William Blake) and issues of religiosity in pre-modern South Asia.
