N. Adam Smith



My primary research interests include avian systematics and anatomy, with a concentration on extinct taxa. I received a BS in geological sciences from Western Kentucky University, and a PhD in geological sciences (paleontology) from The University of Texas at Austin. I was formerly a postdoctoral fellow at the National Evolutionary Synthesis Center on the campus of Duke University in Durham, North Carolina and the J.C. Meeker Postdoctoral Fellow at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Currently, I am curator of the Bob Campbell Geology Museum at Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina.
