Marguerite Sendall

I am a senior lecturer in the School of Public Health and Social Work at Queensland Institute of Technology. My research is focussed on settings based health promotion and action research. As such, I was a co-investigator on a successful competitive grant worth $900,000 over 4 years to investigate sun protection strategies for outdoor workers. Plus, I was the Principal Investigator on a successful competitive grant tender worth $120,000 over 2 years to investigate SNAPO (smoking, nutrition, alcohol, physical activity and obesity) risk factors for truck drivers. My work exceeds the boundaries of the academy and has real-world impact on hard-to-reach groups in health promotion, such as blue collar workers.
