Robert Joan-Arinyo is a Professor of he Department of Computer Science of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya at Barcelona. He received a Diploma in Chemical Engineering in 1971 and a M.Sc in Nuclear Power Plants in 1975 both from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. After expending several years in the private sector, he received a PhD in Computer Science in 1988. His research interests include computer graphics. high-level representations for geometric design and analysis, solid modeling, geometric constraint solving, dynamic geometry and computerized medical applications. Currently he is an associate editor of Computer Aided Design and Applications journal. His research has been funded by NATO, the Spanish Research Agency, the Catalan Research Agency and by a number of industrial companies.
