Associate Professor at the Natural History Museum Denmark. Explores genomic data in population genetics and comparative analyses.
Previously an Assistant Professor at the Bioinformatics Center in Copenhagen University sponsored by a Young Investigator grant from the Villum Fonden.
Ph.D in computational chemistry from Porto University (November 2006). PhD thesis explored the structure and function of cytochromes P450. Postdoctoral work using comparative genomics tools to assess the functional impact of positive selection in various genes and gene families, namely detoxification enzymes and apoptosis-related genes. The postdoctoral work was carried out at Copenhagen University, UC Berkeley, and Porto University, financed by EMBO and Marie Curie grants.
