Biography
Chunhua Liu received the B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees in Automatic Control from Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing China, and Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong SAR, in 2002, 2005 and 2009, respectively. In August 2015, he joined the City University of Hong Kong as Assistant Professor and was early promoted to Associate Professor in July 2020.
Dr. Liu research interests include electric machines and drives, electric vehicles and aircrafts, electric robotics and ships, renewables and microgrids, power electronics and wireless power transfer. He has published over 250 refereed papers. His Google-Scholar Citations are over 6500 with H-index of 36 by 2020. In recent years, he has achieved over 20 grants which supported by 1) UGC, RGC, ITC, ECF, CityU, HKU, etc. from Hong Kong SAR; 2) NSFC, Shenzhen STI, CAST, etc. from Mainland China; 3) HKPC, local and international companies, etc. from Industries.
Dr. Liu is currently an Associate Editor of IEEE Transaction on Industrial Electronics, Editor of IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, and Editor of IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion. Also, he is an Editor of Energies, Subject Editor of IET – Renewable Power Generation, Subject Editor of Cambridge University – Wireless Power Transfer, Associate Editor of Open Journal of the Industrial Electronics Society, Associate Editor of IEEE Chinese Journal of Electrical Engineering, Editor of IEEE Power Engineering Letters, Editor of IEEE Transactions on Magnetics – Conference, respectively. In addition, he is Chair & Founder for both Hong Kong Chapter, IEEE Vehicular Technology Society, and Hong Kong & Guangzhou Joint Chapter, IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, respectively.
