Paulo J. Silva (PJS) has graduated in Physics / Applied Mathematics from the University of Oporto in 1998, and completed a Master Degree (2002) and a PhD (2008) in Theoretical Physics from the University of Coimbra. Meanwhile, PJS completed a Music Complementary course (level 8) at the Aveiro Conservatory (2005).
He has been a post-doc at the University of Edinburgh from 2008 to 2010, and since then he has been a post-doctoral fellow at the Centre for Computational Physics, University of Coimbra.
PJS's research activity has been centered in the lattice formulation of Quantum Chromodynamics. His research topics have been diverse, ranging from the infrared behaviour of QCD Green functions, to algorithms for Landau gauge fixing and dynamical fermion simulations, and to effective models for QCD using lattice input.
