Ignacio Llamas-Garro obtained his PhD from the University of Birmingham, England, United Kingdom in December 2003. Prior to his PhD studies he obtained his first degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon State, Mexico. He joined the Laboratory for Micro Sensors and Actuators as a post doctoral researcher and the Inter-University Semiconductor Research Center as a visiting researcher, at Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea from March 2004 to March 2005. He was a BK-21 Assistant Professor at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Seoul National University, from March 2005 to March 2006. He was an Associate Professor with the Large Millimeter Telescope Research Group at the National Institute for Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics, INAOE, Mexico from May 2006 to May 2007. He was a Juan de la Cierva Fellow with the Signal Theory and Communications Department at the Technical University of Catalonia, Barcelona, Spain from May 2007 to May 2010. He is a senior researcher with the Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC), Barcelona, Spain. Dr. Llamas-Garro is a senior member of the IEEE and a member of the IET, and the EuMA.
