Madeleine Svensson, PhD, is an assistant professor at School of Health and Social Sciences at Halmstad University, Sweden. Dr. Svensson has a background in public health nutrition from the US. She obtained her doctor of medical science from the Unit of Clinical Epidemiology, Karolinska Insittutet, Sweden (2012). Her research has focused on the Internet’s potentials in screening, prevention and treatment of obesity-related health aspects using a wide variety of study designs. Today, her research encompasses e-health, m-health and more intelligent smart systems/technologies. Dr. Svensson has published several papers in her research area. Besides studying health effects, her interests lie in health technology literacy – how health information is communicated and interpreted by patient/responder, using modern technologies.
