Biography
I am a doctoral student specializing in Physics at the Institute of Chemical Technology Mumbai, India.
My research is centered on the synthesis and characterization of metal chalcogenide semiconductors, with a particular emphasis on their potential applications in optoelectronics.
Within the framework of my research titled "Metal selenide semiconductors for multifunctional applications," I am engaged in synthesizing and analyzing nanomaterials and thin films, utilizing both physical vapor deposition (specifically Thermal evaporation) and chemical synthesis techniques. My efforts are directed towards customizing their composition, alloying, and applying various post-treatment methods such as thermal annealing, laser irradiation, and ion implantation. These modifications have broadened their utilization in diverse sectors including solar cells, photodetectors, storage, biological, and coatings.
My investigations into photodetectors using chemically synthesized metal chalcogenide semiconductor nanoparticles have demonstrated exceptional white light detection capabilities with rapid sensitivity and responsivity, achieved through a simplified synthesis method, thereby presenting a promising avenue for detectors with significant potential. Additionally, my expertise in engineering heterostructure thin films using chalcogenide semiconductors in unique epitaxial patterns has facilitated the attainment of desired materialistic properties through bandgap and device engineering, thereby offering an effective approach for device applications. Moreover, my pioneering work on the in-situ study of kinetic changes in thin films during post-energy treatments has introduced a groundbreaking concept for understanding semiconductor dynamics.
My contributions to the field include the publication of ten research articles in reputable peer-reviewed journals and three review papers, elucidating the advancements and insights derived from my research endeavors.
Furthermore, I possess proficient skills in utilizing various research instruments such as Thermal evaporation unit, XRD, FESEM, UV-Vis-NIR spectrophotometer, FTIR, DSC, Contact angle measuring unit, and Photo response study.
My research interests span;
• Thin film semiconductor devices and their characterizations
• Semiconducting nanomaterials
• Quantum dots
• Solar cell and photo-detecting materials
