I have just finished my PhD in Computer Science and Chemistry at the University of Southampton. My PhD Topic is investigating how to bring the modern power of the web to chemical research, with a specific focus on semantic electronic lab notebooks. I am passionate about research, specifically anything to do with the Semantic Web! I am currently working on the semantic web work package of an Innovate UK funded research project between the University of Southampton and Syngenta.
Before starting my PhD I completed my undergraduate degree in Computer Science at the University of Southampton, and then worked for BAE Systems Detica for just over a year. Alongside my PhD I demonstrate for various computer science modules at the university, and my responsibilities include helping out in programming labs, marking coursework and mentoring students in various projects. When I'm not working I'm usually doing various aerial sports classes!
