Fredrik Bynander is an Associate Professor of Political Science and Scientific Leader at Crismart. He is also Chairman of the board of the Center of Natural Hazards and Disaster Science (CNDS) which has been designated a Swedish government strategic research environment. His current research interests include crisis management studies, collaborative crisis management, leadership succession and foreign policy analysis.
In 2009-2011 Fredrik was a Special adviser at the Prime Minister's Office Secretariat for Crisis Coordination. In 2011-2012 he was its head of strategic planning. Recently, he has been part of official reviews of the Stockholm truck attack of April 7, 2017 and the massive forest fire in central Sweden of 2014. He has designed and conducted crisis exercises for the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, the Swedish Cabinet and the Swedish Parliament.
Fredrik is a member of the Royal Academy of War Sciences, and the Swedish Society for International Affairs.
