- Paula Seabra (born 1965) is researcher in the Aveiro Institute of Materials (CICECO) of the University of Aveiro.
- Paula got her Ph.D. in 2004 from the Department of Ceramic and Glass Engineering, University of Aveiro, PT, working on La(Mg0.5Ti0.5)O3 based materials for microwave applications. This was followed by a four years post-doc in Ceramic and Glass Engineering and in Civil Engineering Departments of Aveiro University (mortars formulation and behavior).
- She has published ca. 89 SCI papers and 1 book chapter (h-index 18), and 2 patent applications. Paula supervised/supervise 6 post-docs, 1 PhD and 12 M.Sc. She participated in one European project and 4 national projects with companies and supervised/supervise 8 research fellows.
- SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS
Wastes recycling/valorisation - Development of several products, namely, inorganic pigments, ferrites, geopolymers and clinker from industrial wastes. Inertization of hazardous materials; Eco-building materials - Development of innovative building materials for indoor air quality improvement and passive indoor environment control; Photocatalysis - Synthesis of pure and doped TiO2 nanopowders. Deposition and study of photocatalytic layers based on TiO2 (aqueous and gaseous decontamination, self-cleaning and antibacterial properties).
