Biography

Joana Azeredo is an Associate Professor at the University of Minho and develops her research activity at the Centre of Biological Engineering where she leads the research group of Biotechnology of Bacteriophages. Joana Azeredo obtained her PhD in Microbial Technology from the University of Minho (1998) on Biofilm Science and Technology. She has been responsible for several national and European projects (coordinated a FP6 project) related to biofilm formation and control, physiology of adhered cells and control of pathogens with bacteriophages. She was responsible for the supervision of 12 PhD students, more than 20 MSc students and has published more than 100 international refereed papers and 10 international book chapters.
