Dr. Pengbo Liu is a Research Assistant Professor in the Hubert Department of Global Health in the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University. He received his MPH at Xi’an Jiaotong University in Epidemiology and his PhD at Peking Union Medical College in Epidemiology in China, and then finished several years of postdoctoral training at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and in the Department of Pathology at Emory University. Within recent years, his researches involve laboratory-based norovirus, and his strength is the combination of molecular biology, virology, and public health to understand norovirus from a broad perspective. Dr. Liu’s research interests include norovirus molecular epidemiology in pediatric population, evaluations and development of hand sanitizers and disinfectants against norovirus, and concentration and detection of norovirus and other important enteric viruses in wastewater.
