Biography

Dr. Huai Wang is currently an Associate Professor with the Center of Reliable Power Electronics (CORPE) in the Department of Energy Technology, Aalborg University, Denmark. He received his PhD degree from the City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, in 2012, and B. E. Degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, in 2007. He was a Visiting Scientist with the ETH Zurich, Zurich, Switzerland, from August to September, 2014 and with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA, USA, from September to November, 2013. He was with the ABB Corporate Research Center, Baden, Switzerland, in 2009. Dr. Wang’s research interests include the reliability of DC-link and AC filter capacitors, reliability of power electronic systems, multi-objective life-cycle performance optimization of power electronic systems, high voltage DC-DC power converters, time-domain control of converters, and passive components reduction technologies, and their emerging power electronics applications. In the above areas, he has published about 30 top tier journal papers and 70 conference papers and book chapters, edited one book, filed 4 patents, and given 9 tutorials at leading international conferences. Dr. Wang received the Richard M. Bass Outstanding Young Power Electronics Engineer Award from the IEEE Power Electronics Society in 2016, which is given each year to one of IEEE members less than 35 years of age, in recognition of early-career developments and outstanding achievements in the field of power electronics. He also received the Green Talent award from German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in 2014. He has been an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics since 2015.
