Alessandro Isidori MD, PhD

Dr Alessandro Isidori is an Attending Physician in the Hematology and Stem Cell Transplant Center at the Marche Nord Hospital, Pesaro, Italy. He graduated medical school in 1999 from the Bologna University School of Medicine, where he also obtained his specialisation in Haematology and Medical Oncology in 2004 after a 7-year internship, and his PhD in Clinical and Experimental Haematology in 2008.
He is involved in many clinical trials for the treatment of chronic and acute leukaemias, lymphomas, and stem cell mobilisation and transplantation. He has also worked extensively in the area of cell therapy at the Centre for Stem Cell Research at the University of Bologna.
Dr Isidori’s research has led to the co-authorship of 77 publications in peer-reviewed journals and five book chapters on haematological malignancies. In addition to his active research and clinical roles, he acts as a reviewer for several well-regarded journals and is a member of the editorial boards for Leukemia Research and Treatment, American Journal of Blood, World Journal of Stem Cells and World Journal of Transplantation.
Dr Isidori was awarded with the European Hematology Association (EHA) clinical research grant during the opening ceremony of the 10th EHA International Congress (Stockholm, Sweden) in 2005. He is also a member of the EBMT, EHA, the American Society of Hematology and the American Association for Cancer Research.
