Biography

José Garcia is a physicist with broad experience in two-dimensional materials, quantum transport, and spintronics. His current focus is on the computational modeling of new two-dimensional material based on Van der Waals interactions. For which he has developed a set of novel algorithms to compute spin and valley resolved nonequilibrium quantities, such as the conductivity and the spin susceptibility. These algorithms have been implemented for exploiting graphics processing units (GPU) and CPUs (using OpenMP) architectures in a high-performance computing environment (MPI), and they have been deployed into large-scale computing facilities such as the MareNostrum4 supercomputer.
