Dr. Jian-Xin Liu is a distinguished professor of ruminant nutrition at Zhejiang University, China. Soon after he earned his Doctoral degree in Hokkaido University, Japan in 1988, he returned back to China. He was promoted to full professor in 1994. Awarded the Maria Currie Fellowship by European Union, he spent a year in Rowett Research Institute in 1995. As a Research Fellow supported by the Humboldt foundation, he worked in University of Kiel in 2000. He currently serves as the Director of Institute of Dairy Science, Zhejiang University, and the Director of Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Molecular Animal Nutrition. His recent interests include rumen metabolism and manipulation, lactation biology, dairy production, and utilization of feed resources. Dr. Liu served as the president of China Society of Animal Nutrition during 2008-2012, and currently is a member of the editorial board of Animal Feed Science and Technology, Journal of Animal Physiology and Animal Nutrition, and Asian-Australasian Journal of Animal Science. He is author and co-author of more than 200 articles, and chapters in books, and has presented papers at numerous national and international conferences.
