Professor Armen Bunyatyan was born September 30, 1930 in Yerevan
Bunyatyan AA entered the Yerevan Medical Institute in 1948. In 1949 he transferred to the Second Moscow State Medical Institute, and finished the Institute in 1954. From 1954 to 1957 he studied in clinical internship, and from 1957 to 1959 - in graduate school at the Department of General Surgery. In 1959 he defended his thesis in 1960 and worked as an anesthesiologist in the laboratory at the Department of Anesthesiology Hospital Surgery of the Sechenov First Moscow Medical Institute as a junior researcher. The next 6 years (1960-1965.) he was developing the methods cardioanesthesiology artificially in the laboratory circulation, where AA Bunyatyan participated in the first heart surgery. In 1965 he defended his doctoral thesis "hypothermic perfusion, and anesthesia in surgery of congenital and acquired heart disease." In 1968, AA Bunyatyan awarded the title of "Professor", and in 1981 - Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation.
After defending his doctoral dissertation (1965) headed the department of anesthesiology A.A.Bunyatyan Institute (1967). Associated with this institution the main period of life and creative activity A.A.Bunyatyana, in it he has gone from a senior researcher to the head of department of anesthesiology, academician (1995).
A.A.Bunyatyan - a specialist of the highest class. He has written nine monographic works, including manuals, textbooks and reference books on anaesthesiology and intensive care. He is the author of more than 480 published scientific works, including sections and chapters in monographs and articles in a number of major domestic and foreign publications on a wide range of topical issues of Anaesthesiology and cardiopulmonary bypass. More than 300 scientific papers and several hundred scientific and journalistic performances academician AA Bunyatyan played a huge role in the creation of high image and prestige of specialty Anaesthetist in Russia and abroad. He is the author of the first in our country textbook for students of medical school and editor of the fundamental "Guidelines for anaesthesiology."
