Marko D. Petrović, Ph.D. is Research Associate at Social Geography Department of the Geographical Institute ''Jovan Cvijić'', Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA) in Belgrade (Serbia) and Visiting Professor at the Institute of Sport, Tourism and Service, South Ural State University (SUSU) in Chelyabinsk (Russia). He received his doctorate in Geosciences from the University of Novi Sad.
Dr. Petrović has authored more than 90 publications in scientific journals and conference proceedings (selected papers have been presented in the section ''Works''). His research is centered upon rural and peri-urban development, rural economy, agritourism, tourism’s impact assessment, community-based economy planning, spatial aspects of tourism and geotourism. He currently is the editor-in-chief of the Journal of the Geographical Institute Jovan Cvijic SASA (indexed by Web of Science - ESCI), and he was one of the Foreign evaluators of the international multilateral projects conducted by the Bulgarian National Science Fund (BNSF) for 2016/2017. He is the member of the numerous organizations and entities in the field of science and education in geography and tourism.
