I am Professor of Statistics in the Group of Probability and Statistics, School of Mathematics, The University of Manchester, United Kingdom.
I got my PhD in Statistics from Hong Kong Baptist University in 1996, MSc in Statistics from the Institute of Applied Mathematics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1987, and BSc in Mathematics from Yunnan University of China in 1983.
I was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Rothamsted Research from 1996 to 1999 and a Research Associate in The University of St. Andrew from 1999 to 2000. I was a Lecturer in Statistics in Keele University from 2000 to 2002. I was appointed as a Lecturer in Statistics in The Victoria University of Manchester in 2002 and was promoted as a Senior Lecturer in 2003 and Reader in 2005. Since September of 2006, I have been a full Professor of Statistics in The University of Manchester.
I am an elected member of the International Statistical Institute (ISI) and a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society (RSS).
