Sandra Girbés holds a PhD in Education from the University of Barcelona and is a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Department of Pedagogy at the Rovira i Virgili University. Since 2011, she is a researcher at CREA, Community of Research on Excellence for All. In her research career highlights her training as a predoctoral researcher in the INCLUD-ED Project (FP6, 2006-2011) and her research stay at the Civil Rights Project (University California-Los Angeles). Currently, she continues to develop her lines of research in Schools as Learning Communities, community involvement and successful actions to overcome poverty and social exclusion. Furthermore, she is coeditor of the open-access journal Social and Education History.
