I completed my undergraduate and PhD degrees at Imperial College London, the latter under the guidance of the much missed Dr Joachim Steinke. Between 2007 and 2012 I worked as a PDRA at University of Reading with Howard Colquhoun and Wayne Hayes on several large, international grants in collaboration with Stuart Rowan (Now at Chicago), Michael Mackay (Delaware) and Fraser Stoddart (Northwestern).
In September 2012 I was appointed to a permanent position in the Reading School of Pharmacy where I established a research group in the field of functional materials.
In September 2017 I moved to the University of Sussex, where I am continuing my work on responsive materials. Current projects include the synthesis of redox active oligomers, degradable adhesives and sutures as gels for drug delivery.
