My background is in Systems Integration & Engineering with a previous role within Security Innovation at the Home Office. Here I developed vital workplace skills including engineering practices, teamwork and project management. I'm planning to complete a PhD in Bioenergy in 2018. My main interests lie in renewable energy systems that will sustain the development of future energy strategies.
The research I am undergoing investigates opportunities for integration of anaerobic digestion with hydrothermal processing. With this approach there is potential to valorise digestate, create additional biofuel chains and mitigate fugitive emissions. On my recent visit to University of Akureyri, Iceland a collaboration was set up to investigate routes of biological conversion methods for the production of ethanol and hydrogen from hydrothermal process waters.
Future aspirations include working in the renewable energy sector including biomass industries and conversion technologies.
