Dr Urs-Vito Albrecht is Deputy Director of the Medical Informatics Department at Hannover Medical School (PLRI) and Principal Investigator for mHealth of both the PLRI Braunschweig and MHH. Dr Albrecht is an licensed physician in Germany and the UK, trained in Internal, Emergency and Legal Medicine. As leading investigator of the PLRI MedAppLab, the major area research of Urs-Vito Albrecht is the use of mobile devices in medicine in general with a special focus on ethical and legal aspects of using such devices in a medical context accompanied by mobile health application development.
With his additional degree in Public Health with an emphasis on Public Health Ethics and his long-term experience as secretary of the Research Ethics Committee of the Hannover Medical School, he is familiar with ethical and legal aspects of scientific research and regulation. Dr. Albrecht acted as CIO and Deputy Data Protection Officer for the Epidemiologic Cancer Registry of Lower Saxony of the Governmental Institute for Public Health of Lower Saxony. He also acted as an advisor to the German Medical Council on topics of mobile health.
