I'm Full Professor of the Faculty of Library and Information Science, University of Barcelona. I have degrees in Philosophy and also in Library and Information Science. My Ph.D. is in Information Science (Journalism).
My area of teaching and research is information technology and, specially, digital publications. I've written several books and articles on these issues.
I've been coordinator of several projects of the Spanish Research Plan. Currently I coordinate a research project on open access to science in Spain and also a Consolidated Research Group "Culture and digital contents".
I'm editor of "BiD: textos universitaris de biblioteconomia i documentació", member of the advisory board of the magazine "El profesional de la información", "AIB Studi", "Hipertext.net" and reviewer of several scientific journals.
I'm currently Dean of the Faculty of Library and Information Science, University of Barcelona. Previously I've been Head of studies of the Diploma in Library and Information Science, Head of the Department of Library and Information Science and coordinator of the Ph.D program. I've been Deputy for Documentation and Information Systems Vice President Teaching Policy, University of Barcelona and vice-president of the Consortium of Academic Libraries of Catalonia (CBUC).
I've collaborated with evaluation agencies of Catalonia (AGAUR), Spain (ANEP, ANECA, ACSUCYL), Italy (ANVUR) and Greece (HQAA).
