Tracy is a registered Occupational Therapist with practice experience in the UK and USA, predominantly working with older people in the community. Prior to joining Northumbria University in 2017, Tracy worked at the University of Salford for 11 years teaching on the Occupational Therapy undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and the Dementia postgraduate programme. Tracy’s research has focused on social capital, later life widowhood, community engagement, and living well with dementia. She has experience in conducting qualitative longitudinal research and in utilising multiple methods and secondary data. Tracy is a peer reviewer for the journals Health and Social Care in the Community, Dementia, Qualitative Sociology and Ageing and Society.
