Elena Fernández del Río, Ph.D. in Psychology (University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain) and Postgraduate in Psychopathology and Health (National University of Distance Education, Spain), is Professor in the Department of Psychology and Sociology of the Faculty of Work and Social Sciences of the University of Zaragoza, Spain. She worked as therapist in the Smoking Cessation Unit (University of Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain) since 2004 to 2011. She has published several articles about addictive behaviors in national and international journals, mostly in the area of smoking and, especially, of personality disorders associated with addiction. Nowadays, she belongs to two research groups: "Social Psychology: Social networks, intergroup, and intragroup processes" at the University of Zaragoza and "Assessment and treatment of addictions, eating disorders, mood disorders and health psychology" at the University of Santiago de Compostela. She works as Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Work in the University of Zaragoza (Spain).
