Biography
Dr. Yu is a physical chemist trained at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She has been a senior scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) since 2006. She led the development of the novel molecular imaging tool based on microfluidics at PNNL, which has resulted in multiple publications, two patents, and a nomination for the prestigious R&D 100 award in 2014. Her research expertise spans from aerosol collection and characterization, toxicity analysis, to fundamental kinetic studies. Her recent research effort focuses on chemical imaging of liquid surfaces and liquid-solid interfaces of importance in biology, catalysis, material synthesis, and energy storage using innovated microfluidic approaches.
