Laith Abu-Raddad, PhD, is an Epidemiologist who works on studying the epidemiology of infectious diseases and assessing the impact of interventions. He is a Professor of Healthcare Policy and Research at the Weill Cornell Medical College - Qatar and at the Department of Healthcare Policy and Research, Weill Cornell Medical College, New York. He is also the Director of the Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Biomathematics Research Core and the Director of the Areas of Concentration Program at the Weill Cornell Medical College - Qatar.
His expertise lies in several areas of infectious disease epidemiology with emphasis on quantitative methods. He has led several high-impact studies at the international and regional levels. His research has been published in journals such as Science, Lancet, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, PLoS Medicine, Lancet Infectious Diseases, AIDS. He has worked on HIV, tuberculosis, hepatitis C, SARS, and the ecology and evolution of infectious diseases, among others. He has been the principal investigator on several grants.
