Giuseppe Carbone has got the M.S. degree in mechanical engineering and the Ph.D. degree both from University of Cassino, Italy. Since 1999, he has been a Member of the university's Laboratory of Robotics and Mechatronics (LARM). Since March 2005, Carbone has been an Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, University of Cassino and South Latium, Italy. On May 2010, he has received the National Habilitation as an Associate Professor from the Spanish Ministry of Education (ANECA). He has been a Visiting Scholar at the Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany, for six months in the year 1999 and at Humanoid Robotics Institute, Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan, for about one year during the years from 2002 to 2005. His research interests cover aspects of mechanics of manipulation and grasp, mechanics of robots, and mechanics of machinery. He is author and/or co-author of about 200 papers that have been published in Proceedings of National and International Conferences or in International Journals. He is currently an Associate Editor of the International Journal Robotica and Editor in Chief of topics covering robotics, parallel robots, and grasping for the Journal of Control Engineering and Technology. He has been an Associate Editor for IEEE ICRA 2011, IEEE/RSJ IROS 2011, IEEE/RSJ IROS 2012, and IEEE ICRA 2013. Since 2012, he has been a Member of the Steering Committee of the International Journal Information Science and Technology and a Member of the Editorial Board of Scientific World Journal (area mechanical engineering). Since 2010, he has been nominated to be a Senior Member of IEEE.
