J. Ignacio Candela (S’99-M’04) received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Industrial Engineering in 1987 and 2000, respectively, and his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering in 2009, all from the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC), Barcelona, Spain.
In 1990, he became an Assistant Professor at UPC, where he later advanced to Associate Professor in 1993. Currently he is part of the research group on Renewable Electrical Energy Systems, Department of Electrical Engineering. He has authored or coauthored more than 30 published technical papers, and holds several patents. His current research interests include power conditioning, integration of distributed energy systems, and control of grid connected power converters.
