Biography

Marília Figueira is an integrated PhD member of CICS-UBI, conducting activities as Resonsible Researcher for the Cell Culture Laboratory at CICS-UBI. Marília Figueira has a PhD in Biomedicine (2023). Her area of research is the Hormonal Regulation of Prostate Cancer, namely, the effects of estrogens and their receptors on the development and progression of this type of cancer. Author of 13 articles in international scientific journals and a book chapter related to her research work. She participated and presented his work in several national and international congresses. Regarding pedagogical activities, she collaborated in teaching activities of the 1st and 2nd cycle of studies in Biomedical Sciences and Biochemistry, namely, in the "Applied Molecular Biology" couse. She also participated as arguer in the evaluation of students works in the "Project of Biochemistry" curricular unit of 1st cycle of studies in Biochemistry. She guided the practical work of students developing their master´s dissertations at CICS-UBI and projects within the curricular unit of the Seminar of the 1st Cycle of Studies in Biomedical Sciences. Marília Figueira co-founded of the company inSci in 2018, where she developed work in the scientific communication area, namely, in scientific and technologic training, scientific events organization and scientific illustration.
