Biography

Professor Jason B. Mattingley is Foundation Chair in Cognitive Neuroscience at The University of Queensland, where he holds joint appointments in the Queensland Brain Institute and School of Psychology. He completed his PhD at Monash University and undertook post-doctoral training at the University of Cambridge. Mattingley conducts research on the mechanisms of selective attention in health and disease, focusing on how attentional processes influence multisensory integration, neural plasticity and consciousness. He also conducts research on the applications of psychology and neuroscience to education. Mattingley sits on the editorial boards of several scholarly journals. His research is funded by grants and fellowships from the Australian Research Council and the National Health and Medical Research Council. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia, and recipient of the Australian Psychological Society’s Distinguished Contribution to Psychological Science Award.
