Dr. Syed Md. Ehsanur Rahman is a Professor of Food Microbiology in the Meat Science Section in the Department of Animal Science, Bangladesh Agricultural University, where he has been since 2000. From 2013 to 2015 he served as a Chair of the Department. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Husbandry from Bangladesh Agricultural University in 1995, Master’s in Animal Science from the same University in 2001 and Doctorate in Food Science and Biotechnology from Kangwon National University, Korea in 2012. Dr. Rahman’s primary research interests are in the utilization and mechanisms of food antimicrobials to inhibit bacterial foodborne pathogens. Dr. Rahman is the lead instructor for the undergraduate and master courses: Quality and safety aspects of meat and meat products, Climate change and food safety. Dr. Rahman is an active member of the Bangladesh Society for Safe Food, Krishibid Institution and Bangladesh Animal Husbandry Association. He sits on the editorial boards of the Journal of Food Hygiene and Journal of Meat Science and Technology. He also provides expert reviews in food safety microbiology for multiple journals publishing refereed food microbiology research. As of 2018, Google Scholar reports over 800 citations to his work and h index is 16. Till to date he published more than 50 scientific articles in peer reviewed Journals and more than 20 articles have been published in top ranked food science journals (SCI/SCIE) with high impact factor.
