University Education: BA (honours) Cantab., 1st Class in Natural Sciences (Chemistry), University of Cambridge, (Downing College), 25th June 1988; PhD, University of Cambridge, Darwin College, 1992; MA (Cantab.), 1992, University of Cambridge. Professional Bodies: Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), Chartered Chemist (CChem), Member of American Chemical Society. Research Career: PhD at the University of Cambridge with Dr Warren and Dr Richards (1988-1991); Post-doctoral research with Prof. T. H. Chan (1991-1993, McGill University, Montreal); Schering Plough Newman Scholar at University College Dublin (1994-1995); Lecturer (October 1995-2003), Senior Lecturer (2003-2006), Reader (2006-2015) and now Professor (2015-) at University of Glasgow.
