Volker Wiersdorff

I am a biochemist, developmental biologist and molecular geneticist by training. Having graduated from the University of Würzburg, I joined the European Molecular Biology Laboratory in Heidelberg in 1992 as a predoctoral student. Following a PhD awarded by the University of Heidelberg in 1996 and a short postdoctoral period, I became an editor for The EMBO Journal in 1997. In 2007 I shifted my focus to developing in-house solutions for workflow integration and data management, and became the Head of Information Support and Resources (ISR) at EMBO. Since 2012 I have also been the manager responsible for matters related to the EMBO Membership and Elections at EMBO.
